My first bike!
-
And it doesn't leak, just old cardboard from oil changes and stuff.
-
A lot of bike for a beginner. Be careful.
I had a r6 and r1 years back and i loved them.
-
Yeah, I plan to respect it for what it is.
-
My first bike!
Nice bike! I can tell by the front rotors that it hasn't been ridden in a while
-
Where is a good source for a jacket? You know, have to be fashionable and stuff. (:
-
Re: My first bike!
Very nice bike!
I learned on a R1! Those yamahas are fun bikes
Have fun and respect it and it'll treat you well.

Re: My first bike!
Id try on a bunch of jackets and find what you like and then shop around. I have a fieldsheer that I love, lots of armor, warm in the cool, cool in the warm. Its starting to look like shit, but whelp looking for a replacement I never found one I liked. Don't forget good gloves, boots, helmet, trousers...
Nice bike! Ride safe!

bought my stuff from newenough.com alot of closeouts buys etc... but sizing can be weird so try on something locally first
have you taken MSC yet?
-
I am planning on signing up for the course that is held later on this month. Is the course offered by Learning Curves near the State Fair grounds adequate? That was my plan since they have openings and is fairly close.
-
If it's an MSF course, then yes, definitely!
IMO, the first thing you should buy are some frame sliders. You WILL put it down, probably at very low speed, but it's still going to fuck up the fairings real good. Spend the cash on sliders now, save the fairings later! :)
Nice find!

Learning curves is a great school. My wife took it and she got a lot from it, and is a great rider on the street because of it. You bought that bike from a guy in Jackson named Matt right? He's a friend of mine and that bike should treat you well.
-
Good to know - thanks! I'll be sure to sign up before the session is full.
And yes, I bought it from Matt.
-
Learning Curves is where I went as well...even having ridden off road for years you learn things you wouldn't normally think of.... is definitely worth every penny...... i need to find another bike....
-
Signed up for the course this morning! Wish it wasn't a few weeks away, but my only earlier option was the weekend I would be recovering from getting my wisdom teeth. Probably not the best weekend to take the class.
-
So will there be any Open track days at RA with the bike in your future?
That is a lot of bike for a beginner is right on. My coworker's brother bought a sport bike as a first bike and it didn't end well.
Careful with it indeed.
-
I think I will leave the track days for my Taurus. :goof
-
Very sweet bike. Congrats.
Please be smart, and wear a helmet at all times.
-
A helmet, jacket, boots, and gloves should all be a minimum when getting on a bike. Not to mention pants that will protect you from the road in the event that you go down, which eventually you will in one way shape or form.
-
Death machine. And usually it is from all the other bad drivers on the road. I feel unsafe enough in a car, lol.
