Here's basically what I posted to the 3000/Stealth and GTR boards I go to...one other GTR guy is sending his in already.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
ROAD AMERICA Signup for Spring April 17-18, 2010 Driver Event!!!
Road America is an outstanding track as most of us know...many call it the BEST track in the USA! It is HIGHLY suited to our 3000GT's as it is considered a "Horsepower" track, 4 miles long with 14 turns...some great elevation changes...nice and wide...IMPECCABLE road surface quality, not any lumpy-bumpy or shoddy patchwork.
The SCCA has moved to Road America for their year end National Runoffs for these and many reasons--

Sign up ASAP, as 1) it is cheaper now than later and 2) MFBA needs 80 signups by mid January to go forward.
This event has been running in Spring and Fall since 2000, and is premier...very well organized and run, and for prices that are good for either ONE or BOTH days available.

I've managed to get a 2:34 lap in my 94 VR4, not yet going all out. The GTR went 2:30, but I expect the VR4 to beat that in April :)

Here's Phil G in his Stealth following me, I pass a NICE Viper like a dirty shirt after turn 14 :) tho my car that year was overheating issues (solved THAT problem now)

It is $235 for one whole day, $425 for the whole two day weekend!
There is ALWAYS a GROUP of 3000GT/Stealth people there from several states!
Four Run Groups from complete Novice (and there are many Instructors available, no extra charge) to Advanced.
This is the IDEAL place and time to use your car as easy/learning, or as hard as you want and feel comfortable...and just think, being able to say you've BEEN to Road America running your car...Priceless :) It just IS.
Here is the MFBA Website, and the Forum of discussions--

thank you,
great job! :)
okie Dokie!
Now is the time to start signing up!!!!!!!!
won't be long now.
:)
When does sign-up close? I'm going to have to work like all hell to have a car ready by April.
My forms are in for Sunday. Still considering going both days if funds are available.
I had a blast last fall, and can't wait until April!
This event was amazingly well organized in fall 2009, and the instructors alone were worth the price of admission. They'll make sure you get around the track safely, quickly, and grow your driving confidence. Best money I've ever spent on the car, and the best tank and a half of gas I've ever burned! :D
Signed up a few days ago!
SSMike, would you be interested in riding along with me? Always looking for more instruction from experienced instructors. It's been 2 years since I ran RA due to car-issues so I'm going to be a bit rusty...
- Jesse
Jesse, i'm sure there's gonna be a line of instructors waiting for you when you get up there...
hopefully the word got out about me as well... (i hope to return as an instructor in spring as well)
hopefully i can get some more neon love up there this time 'round!
Woohoo, the wife bought me a track day for my b-day! I'll be there on saturday. I better get out to the garage and finish up my winter projects:)
Wait Andy is going to run at RA? :wooo
Tech question...
If the drivers side seat has a 5 point harness, can the passenger seat run with a 3 point stock seatbelt, or does it also HAVE to be a 5 point harness? Can someone please clarify for sure? I don't want to end up there not able to pass tech with a passenger.
Thanks.
JR
jesse, you should be fine... the belt thing is usually a suggestion at track events like this to begin with.... we SUGGEST you have a full 4 or 5 point harness, but the standard 3pt on most vehicles is more than adequate...
now if you wanna be super secure, just throw some 6-points, and a removable barf bag and you're all set! lol
btw: i call ride in your car jesse, and your car murray, and if anyone wants to experience the slowest car in a straight line at the event, you're more than welcome to hop in the passenger side of the neon... just be prepared to scream "brake" a few times more than normal...
OK thanks. I was asking because I have a 5 pt harness for me, but not for the passenger seat.
time to get me signed up! NOW! :)
Registration still open? Want to do both days...
2008 Porsche Carrera S :)
Any suggestions on if some upgrading pads are needed? That's gonna be $, haha
