Any 3000gt or stealth owners on here?
i know of 1 3000gt owner... forget his name... lemmie see if i can find it.
How about former owner? Does that count?
Had a '91 VR4...
jrink for sure. nicest Stealth i've ever seen
I hate not seeing VR4's around. 3000GT SL's are worse then V6 Mustangs.
i wonder what jessie is doing he needs to bring his stealth out
Sure :) maybe have the 94 VR4 running in a month or so
So are this things as hard on transmissions as i read years ago? I thought about picking one up but that and their weight turned me away.
Meh...I raced mine a fair amount and never had a problem, except ONCE, I put a trans with worn synchros/needing rebuild BACK in the car without going through it to go to an event out of state. Car ran fine, but it MIGHT be that at night in a business park somebody might have challenged a motorcycle and was winning til it stripped one gear on a shift :) and said person was of course winning til then. The 91-93 aluminum transfer cases are weaker and can crack, but there are aftermarket billet aluminum and even steel transfer cases to replace that. One end of trans has cracked a few times on launches, so you can get the end reinforced with aluminum plate welded inside or "handcuff" material put in, there are mods for longevity now. Like any part, it is a wear item and even Formula 1 stuff breaks sometimes.
I used to have a bunch, and used to do a ton of work on them on the side, including Jack and Jesse's. My buddy Jeff has continued working on them after I dropped out when I started working a to of overtime at Chrysler.
So I might have found my old vr4 in vegas. Been sitting for 2 years, I thinkk on the street. Should I get it back, Ill be hopefully taking it to Jack T (the legend) Or one of His good friends for a look over. Nightrider hopefully will be back! Oh, My name is real name is CHIVAS in case anyone wanted to know:thumbsup
