Chuck Samuel's El Camino
Chuck used to bring this beast to GLD back in the day. We always wondered how the thing hooked so good until one day we lifted the tailgate (which was always down when he made low 9 second passes on 9" Goodyears). The thing must have weighed 200+ pounds since it was obviously filled with some very dense material.
One night we were talking with Chuck while sitting on the tailgate of the El Camino and a conversation about NOS arose. Check said "bring me that Cheater plate and I'll give you two tenths". I tore it off the Nova and brought it over to him. He pulled out the mini drill set and started making holes where they did not exist and also made other larger than stock. Sure enough there was two tenths in the mods....genius
Check out Nick Scavo and Chuck in the background.

I remember it with baked paint and a gray primed snorkel hood, too!
It looks like Chucks bad-ass 1969 SS396 Q-Jet carbed Chevelle in the background. Think I saw that car go 11s on a "lift pass"!!
