Just picked up an 85 GS700ES, Needs a little carb work/intake orings. I like it, should have enough power to get me around. What can I say, I love the 80's.

Nice! I thought GS's were all just UJM's. Didn't know they made 'em all sporty like that. I like that. Nice ride!
Thanks, yeah the ES versions aren't as common as the plain Standard or L model cruisers.
Got the carbs off, ordered a clutch cable and intake orings, bought new fuel line and vac hose.
Can't wait till its running.
Carbs are back on, waiting on a couple parts for mine. We bought my wife a 92 Yamaha Seca II this past weekend. It was a frosty ride home from Mequon with the new bike. Brrrrr:goof
Took the kid out for a ride on my wife's bike. We went around the block. Before we went she was nervous, now she can't wait to go again. She was rockin her new Snell approved helmet too. :thumbsup
Got my clutch cable and clamps today. Rode it for the first time today, went around the block, then to the gas station. I love this bike.
Found out teh stator was crapped out after a short ride and then stopped at home before we were going to ride to get some ice cream. Bike wouldn't start and was down to 10.5 volt:fire Well looked online and reman stators were $120-140. Found Mil Cycle Salvage had one of the better ones from Rick's on ebay fro 79.99 (Normally $140) Bought it through ebay and picked it up yesterday. Put it in today and now it's back charging again.
....and of course its raining :goof
Sounds like you've about got the bugs worked out of it, and some nice weather for this upcoming weekend
