just thought i would bring this up to the top.
pulled my sled out of storage last night. man, i forget how good 2-stoke smells, that alone makes me never want to buy a 4 stroke, LOL!! planning on washing it up good and greasing it tomorrow, then i just have to wait for the snow!
I just pulled mine into the garage so I can start working on it. I did no summerizing whatsoever, pulled it in the yard right off the trail and put the cover on. I primed it 4 pumps today, 2nd pull started right up. Unreal.
Won't be long now!
I can't wait to come home next weekend so I can put my new track on. 121x15x1.35 camoplast cobra, yea!!!
my parts came in yesterday so i can slap everything back together and then hopefully sell the sled. cant wait to buy a new sled!
well I posted a thread over on HCS about a group ride in december. Last year there were 6 of us from the site that met up and had an absolute blast. it is a great way to kick off the season!! like i said in that thread, all types of riders are encouraged to attend. the owner of the lodge knows the area great and can give the backwoods boondocking guys a great time, the trails up there are great for the hardpack guys, and the beer seems to taste better in the UP for the casual guys that just want to mess around!! would be cool to get some BCMers up there!!!

i am going to bump this for one reason...........
puddles were frozen this morning and i had ice hanging from my running boards on the truck!!!!!! whooo hooo!! won't be long now.
cleaned the sled all up and everything looked good. had to tighten the rear handle (or whatever you call it). just gotta grease it and polish the tunnel and should be all set.
Polish the tunnel???? Holy bling!!!!
I took my Formula Z out by my buddy, had the pipe cracks and holes all welded up. Now I just need a new pipe from teh main pipe to the can, mine's rusted, and I gotta change seat covers and that sled is ready to rock. Then on to the MXZ....
that sounds like fun
Yeah powerball ftw. Every year I spend probably a few hours at least polishing my tunnel just for it to look like shit after the first ride. Why I do it? I have no clue but it looks damn good when its done.
I should try it on my Formula Z. The MXZ is yellow tunnel, but the Formula is aluminum. Hmm....
Which polish are you guys using? I have the Mother's Billet polish I use for my wheels, good enough?

^^^
that should work. i just use the regular mothers aluminum polish. you will be shocked how shiny you can get them to look!! some guys go to the extreme, but even a quick over will make the sled look 10x better. plus, like i said earlier, once you do it once a year, it will stay a lot cleaner.
You do the running boards and everything? I have traction plates rivited to my running boards, I could pop them off so I dont chew the hell out of my powerball. They could use some paint anyway...
I use flitz polish or mothers polish, both work great. The stuff you have should work fine, just take your time. The end outcome will be a mirror like finish
question for the guys using modular helmets.
what type of baklava/facemask do you use? i want to wear something to keep the back of my neck warm and my baklava that i got now won't work with the respirator/breath deflector. any open face baklavas or thin neckwarmers out there?
I wear a turtle neck thing, i think its called a dickie - and just a thin balaclava. Does the trick every time. By far the best helmet I have had, and I still have my open face for when it gets warmer out.
i got sick of that stupid air mask and took it off. just dont like having stuff over my face. i bought a ru outside faskmask last year and i love it. ive also goin to a motocross type helmet too, which i like a bit better.
I wear a couple different ways. I have teh Ski Doo modular helmet, I like it but I think I bought the wrong size, it feels too small. I wear one of those Turtle Fur balaclavas with it, but like I said its too tight so I only wear it when its real cold. Last year I wore my motox helmet most of the time with the same balaclava and Scott goggles with the little polarshield thingy. They worked good, I have the light sensitive lens, but I want to buy the desert LS lens because it tints darker.
my problem is no matter what combo of helmet balaclavas/helmets/goggles setup i use, they still fog up horribly no matter and it annoys the crap out of me. ive even bought super expensive non fog goggles and still have the problem. the onlything that ever worked good was the heated facemask on my moduler helmet, but that broke and its $150 for a new one. u guys have any goggles u would reccomend
Ive never once had my Ski Doo modular helmet fog up on me, proper fitment and seal of the airbox is key.
For goggles I like the Scott 89Xi Turboflows. I have th ones with the light changing lens like these....

those goggles are badass! ill have to buy a pair
The only thing I dont like about them is they change to the blue tint which isnt dark during bright sunny days. Scott now has a LS lens with the name Desert for the kids out in the sand dunes, those are supposed to tint from clear to darker. I think I'ma gonna try them this winter.
im just about ready for the snow, im just waiting for my studs and snow flap to come and im sethttp://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y34...x/DSC00724.jpg

ill snap some pics of mine when it comes back from the photography studio. i dropped it off there this morning and some HOTA$$ model flew in from texas to shoot with it for a snowmobile calender. mine looked like such a old turd next to a 0 mile 09 dragon 800, 0 mile 08 xps renegade (it was a crossover with yellow and blue racer grapgics), a 0 mile nytro fx, and a 0 mile crossfire r 1000. the studio was pretty badass and he had a few of the pictures developed already and it looked amazing! cant wait to see mine
who needs a track, see the classifieds. i got one
snapped a few picks-
