Bout time, all or nothing time now.
The instructor of the carry class last night was saying they combined the constitutional carry bill and the permit carry bill. As it stands right now any state resident who can legally own/possess a handgun will be allowed to carry, no permit required. If you want to get a permit for reciprocity from other states you'll be able to do that for a fee. BUT, your name will go on a list at the DOJ which can be obtained by officers.
Now, that I've taken the class I plan on sending in my Utah application. That way when this law passes I can carry without my name being on a list. Having the Utah permit will allow me to carry legally in 30+ other states. After the bill passes you can't get a Utah permit until you get your own state's permit.
Well if that is true Fivonut then I am glad I already have my Utah permit :thumbsup
I've been waiting on my utah permit to come back for about a month.
I am so glad i got mine
But with the current version of the constitutional carry part of the bill, you still won't be able to be within 1000ft of a school, you'll need to get get teh state permit to be within 1000ft but still can't be on school grounds. In the sticks its easy to not be within 1000ft of a school, in the bigger cities they are all over.
I couldn't care less of the DOJ/Police Officers know if I have a carry permit.
I do need to start saving my pennies for a S&W 442 though :)

"Inviting tragic situations to happen" ????? Because the law abiding citizen wants to carry??? I'm sorry but tragic is when some girl on the eastside gets beat and robbed walking her dog by a punk with a knife. I don't consider her pulling a gun and shooting the man beating her tragic.
Wouldn't count on constitutional carry this time around.
http://www.wisn.com/video/28060802/detail.html the ccw part starts about 7:15 ,Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald says he's fine with constitutional carry, but the caucus will probably pass a bill with some kind of permit system.
