They just did a local news spot saying it was being renovated?
Must be getting Obama-renovated as in free money for all!
yea they said a new eco friendly duplex will be put in its place blah more free money for dumb shit
I don't think it was an eyesore, to me it was a national landmark. I remember as a kid going to grandma and grandpa's house, we knew we were on the right track when we turned at the purple house.
Eyesore. Happy for neighbors that its gone.
That's exactly why I'm pissed it's gone. Dude took a stand. It's about time someone made "their property" THEIRS.
The city MADE him paint his house so he painted it purple. He put up a fence and the city told him it was too tall, so he took a CHAINSAW and cut it shorter!
What's the point in "owning" something if it's never really yours to do with as you please?
WOW !! I just drove past it on Sunday night and it was still standing !!
While I 100% support his standing up to The Man, I would have hated to have been a neighbor.
Wasn't there some type of helicoptor there once???
It's been a good 15 years since Ive been down that road.
I never understood why people let stuff like that bother them...
Maybe I'm just a little more care free than others. So what, he painted his house purple, who the fuck cares. He served for our country, let the fucking man do what he wants. Unless I was misinformed he is a vet for some branch of the military.
i didnt care that it was purple or was a deformed house it looked like a junkyard with crap everywhere and looked deserted overgrown everything
I can think of about 3 places/house that have over grown grass and look like a scrap yard... What because there houses aren't purple no one has a problem with them? :goof
yea he ws a ve, that kinda was messed up with no help. actually work with his older sister and was told that he kept to his self, after he died the gf let everything go
About time.
Maybe me being younger generation, I just accept that some people are different.
Paint your house and treat your yard how ever you want... Maybe when I own a home and my neighbors let there yards go to shit I will care more.
I used to think why people cared about stuff like that. Then I bought a house.
He worked for the city, in the forestry department. Further proof the city has more weirdos on the payroll than sane people.
Happy for his neighbors, that guy was/is a phuckin' loon! When you're paying a mortgage, you'll understand why his neighbors hated it.
