View Full Version : 2010 Camaro dyno Results

BAD LS1

Here is a comparison of the before and after dyno results.

The car with 81 miles made 390hp and 378tq rock stock the first day i had it.

Now with the addition of a Roto-Fab CAI, 160 t-stat, and a tune the car picked up 26HP and 27tq. The tune eliminated most the ETC torque managment and fixed the 11.2 AFR (stock) to 12.7 AFR and timing from 18 to 23 degrees total @ WOT. The timing doesnt play that big of a factor on an NA engine like this and besides the LS3/L92 heads have uber efficent combo chambers and dont need alot of lead on advance. 416 and 405 are the final numbers.

I will probably get publicly stoned for posting this on the modern camaro site, because guys can barely get these #s with headers rofl!! Even w/o the weather correction factor it makes 394 and 385.

Yes as soon as possible hopefully! I want to see if the trap speed #s reflect 416 to the wheels in a 4K lbs car or not.

ah yes but you get that on there too soon and it will get old fast....then 500 rwhp wont be enough then comes the turbo:rolf:rolf

Nice job Tom, looks like the tuner king strikes again, damn good numbers for the little mods you have added...

so in comparison with earlier LSX cars, which you tuned even without ANY mods and saw considerable results, are these the same? a 26 gain is very good obviously, but i guess i'm just curious if these have the new camaros all bottled up like before?

^ One thing tho is I'm actually not to surprised. If you look on LS1GTO.com theres a few guys that picked up 20+ at the wheels with the new Vararam intake and a tune. It's the latest and greatest for LS2 Goats.

nice numbers I'll have to get my dad's vette up there now, do the same lay over. Then lay the vette and maro over and see how close they are again..

LS3/L92 heads are some of the best out there, outside of LS7 heads. P/P L92 heads can easily flow 320-330CFM. I really want a set, the 243's on my LS2 just aren't worth the P/P investment, considering the LS3/L92 simply has bigger valves.

Bad LS1, did you think about moving up to LS7 heads? Supposedly they fit on the LS3, but valve angle is slightly different at 12°, vs 15° for the other LS heads. I wish I could but with my 4" bore I'm SOL, unless I find a shortblock or cross my fingers and get my block machined/re-sleeved, but for that price I might as well get a Maggie.

Nahhh LS7 parts are too baller for me. I do want to dabble in larger displacment however this year, I hope do enough LS side jobs this year to fund the parts to make the LS3 a 427 and maybe a plate if thats not enough. I refuse to fall into the status qou and do a magna-flamethrower.

did u get it to the track before winter?

BAD LS1
01-14-2010, 09:27 PM
Yup, piss poor at 13.1 @110 with consistent 2.3 60's. It needs suspension work to fix wheel hop and tires that offer the least bit of traction.

Yeah but they offer more than just the MP112 and 122... their 4 rotor TVS blowers are out now, and both the 1900 & 2300 can feed ~400 cubes. Of course, roots blowers aren't the only way to go.

I'm too spooked by the vids I've seened of popped motors to play with laughing gas.

My choice to avoid them for my own personal car is brought on because just about every new Camaro SS is rocking a $7K TVS kit and its so played the fuck out already. i personally love spray, almost as much as turbo's.

Just don't take your spoiler off :D

Got anything done to the exhaust yet? I've experimented with a few different setups.

Nah, I like the spoiler look, though the deletes don't look bad, most that I've seen, people just buy plastic plugs and fill the holes, instead of filling/welding and painting. But, if I'm going to spend the money on body work, I'm getting rid of the front license plate bracket, and getting my hood/bumper chips fixed.

I haven't done anything with the exhaust yet, I like the sound of the Corsa systems, but $1100+ just for a catback is pretty outrageous. Headers sure, but not muffs & pipes. So, first I'm going to try a resonator delete with an x pipe, 2 stainless glasspacks per pipe, and maybe replace that crimped section of the stock system by the diff. I want the nice tone, but not the police attention that most exhaust systems typically bring.

I've got a stainless ebay xpipe along with dynomax race bullets. You may want to here it first. It's pretty quiet already. Honestly I have no idea how but the xpipe seems to have quieted the exhaust down. Because it was louder with just the race bullets.

Race bullets w/ factory res:

After, as you can see it loses that popping noise with the xpipe and really smooths out:

low 13's seems about right for the LS3.

For a rock stock one... had traction or wheelhop not been an issue 12.50s @ 109 would fall in line.
