Yes, we will be closed because...

Freeburn Track Grinding has been hired to grind level surface the entire
quarter mile, starting 30 feet before the stage beams and continuing past the
finish line. The work will begin work on July 7th, (subject to change) We are making a commitment to provide the best track surface possible at GLD.

We appreciate your patience as we work to improve the facility!

That sucks!! I have been planning on taking my car down there on the 5th for 2 weeks now. Had a bunch of people lined up to come down and race. Guess we will have to reschedule :(

Stop the presses, we ARE open on the 5th. Freeburn just called us, he's stuck on a project in Minnesota and the work can't begin now until at least July 7th...

this is good news, i remember seeing countless high HP cars getting squirrely at the 1/8 and 1000' marks, good work greg

You would think this would have been done in the Spring or at the end of the season. Why do it during prime racing season?

myguess there would be they want the track to sit at "racing" elevation,rather than when it move to when there is frost in the ground:confused

We have people saying they won't race on our track with "the bump" and we have people who don't race much at all, period, wanting to know why we're doing it now.

Yet another prime example of damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Anyway, this other "stuff" has nothing whatsoever to do with the original topic.

We do not have a "choice" as to when the work is to be done, we are at the mercy of the company doing the resurfacing and when it's done it's done.

It was supposed to be done this weekend, now it's put off for awhile.
