As a "Thanks for your support" to BCM, we're looking at Saturday, October 4th, 2008 as "BCM DAY" at GLD. BCM members race for only 15 bucks!
Gates open at 10:00AM. We close at 8:00PM. We will be happy to help with any "grudge matches" you guys might want to setup between yourselves. Should be a blast! BE THERE!!!

JUST TELL THEM AT THE GATE THAT YOU ARE WITH BCM TO GET YOUR DISCOUNT. WE ARE OPEN FROM 10AM TO 8PM. RACING WILL NOT START AT 10AM, THAT IS WHEN THE GATES OPEN.

Scotty and I are working on "cheap test and tune" days for next year. (or maybe even this year!) We need some input from you folks, and we'd need good, solid turnouts to convince the majority owners that this is worth doing on a regular basis. So stay tuned on that!

What we're looking to do is have some fun, relaxed atmosphere, no "conditions" or "rules". Line them up, put up or shut up. No excuses grudge racing, what more can you ask for dudes? Here's a dragstrip. Where's your car?

And if all ya want to do is just make some passes and hang out with your friends, that's what this is for.

My involvement with the track is centered around my desire to see an historic facility, one that I have had so many great times at in my 47 years, survive and prosper in times that are getting very tough for many people. There's been some changes at the top, and the majority owners asked me to join the Management Team, and I agreed. There's some other involvement I would prefer to keep private but the gist of it is that I'm interested in seeing GLD remain open and not be a financial burden on the investors.

FYI, Dave Hohensee has kind of taken over Ray Drew's former role as "Trackside Manager" and I answer to Dave, Dom Blasco and Randy Henning. Brian used to be my "boss" with regard to RSD. That's no longer the case. :devil :shades
Ray decided that he wants to pursue other interests, spend more time with his wife and young family, and so he has moved out of the ownership group and management team.

provided all goes well with my last surgury I will defanatly be there, since I have only been to the track once this year....hopefully I can brake into the 13's by then, since my last (and only) outing this year I got a 14.2 with a 2.2 60' with no air pressure adjustments and a ton of stuff in the trunk...... There's no "point" other than this- Over the years I have worked for GLD, I have tried to put together days like this so guys can go have some FUN and save a little cash in the process. I don't care who comes, like me or don't like me. I do it because I want to and because I can. If you want to come, come on down. If you think the spectator admission is too high don't come.

And yes, time has shown people will complain about anything and everything. Makes you want to say "fuck it" and just not do it anymore...

The numbers are a requirement for the tower and for your tech cards. You can put your screen name on the window with Geddex or shoe polish if you want though...

Well, Scott this is the best that I can do for you- I spoke to Randy and we are going to have a special series of car numbers for BCM people- Example- "Regular Price" racers will get a 500-series number. "BCM Day" racers will get a 400-series number. So, if you see a car in the waterbox or on the line with say... number "421" for example, you would know that is a BCM'er.

That should make your job easier. I also will have some Geddex "Dial-in" with me and if anyone wants to use it to write usernames on windows, that's fine.

We just want you guys to have a fun day.

Let's play that one by ear for now. Depends on how busy we are. I am sure I can pull a few strings if we're not overly busy, otherwise we would want the two cars to line up in the SAME lane, one behind the other, and you tell Casey or whomever is the lane director Saturday that you want to race. Do NOT try to line up "side by side", that won;t work...

You need a special ID we have coded with your DNA and fingerprints. Please also bring a copy of your birth certificate and social security card as well. You must also wear a BCM hoodie.
